Interview with Miseuril CEO Jo Jeonghyun, Head of an AI Company for Industrial Accident Prevention
Saved a Worker from Being Caught in a Machine... "Safety Is Also a Labor-Intensive Industry"
"AI will protect workers on the job and even correct problems." (Jo Jeonghyun, CEO of Miseuril)
Miseuril is an AI company that applies AI technology to industrial accident prevention systems. Its flagship AI system, Guardian Alpha, immediately detects real-time risk factors at industrial sites through CCTV and alerts workers to dangerous situations. It is a step ahead of existing industrial safety systems that only sounded an alarm in hazardous situations. Guardian Alpha can not only monitor but also respond, for example by stopping machines. It can even identify problems on site and automatically report them to managers.

Guardian Alpha has actually saved a person in the field. At a cement plant in Incheon, a worker almost got sucked into a machine after violating the two-person-per-team safety rule. In this hair-trigger situation, Guardian Alpha activated and stopped the machine. In an interview held on February 11, 2026, at Miseuril's office in Songpa-gu, Seoul, CEO Jo said, "It is a case where AI made its own judgment and saved a person," adding, "It did not stop at saving the person; it also automatically reported the incident to the manager, so the problematic situation at the time was recorded on video."
The advancement of AI technology has had a positive impact on Miseuril's AI models. Through increasingly sophisticated training, the system is steadily reducing recognition errors. For example, in the past, Guardian Alpha could not distinguish between a person who had collapsed and a person lying on the floor to perform welding. However, as AI technology has advanced, Guardian Alpha can now determine whether someone lying down has actually been involved in an accident.
Even so, CEO Jo says it was not easy to build an AI system that prevents industrial accidents. This is because, even as AI models advance day by day, there is a severe shortage of image data related specifically to industrial accidents. Miseuril explains that by overcoming this challenge, it has created a clear point of differentiation from other companies.
CEO Jo said, "It is difficult to respond appropriately to situations with only a small amount of data. However, we solved the problem by applying situational reasoning and methodological approaches," adding, "For example, if 1 million images are needed to handle industrial accident scenarios, Miseuril has differentiated itself by implementing this with around 1,000 images."

Miseuril's industrial accident prevention AI technology is drawing attention in the field. Miseuril has signed contracts with companies such as Sampyo Group and Shany, which were found in violation of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act due to industrial accidents. Instead of merely trying to avoid legal risks related to industrial accidents, companies are shifting toward investing in technologies that can prevent accidents in the first place. This also aligns with the government's strong stance on responding to industrial accidents. On the back of this trend, the number of employees, which stood at 5 in 2023, increased to 30 last year. The company plans to increase its headcount to 40 this year.
CEO Jo said, "In fact, safety itself is a labor-intensive industry. People have to manage things manually, monitor sites, and provide training," adding, "Fundamentally, technologies such as AI can create ways to prevent accidents."
Starting this year, Miseuril plans to actively enter the construction market as well. According to CEO Jo, since the end of last year, demand from construction companies for AI technologies that prevent industrial accidents has been growing. GS Engineering & Construction's corporate venture capital (CVC) arm, Explo Investment, recently invested 1 billion won in Miseuril. This is seen as going beyond simply introducing AI technology to sites and moving toward building a future-oriented business partnership.

Looking ahead, CEO Jo aims to introduce AI systems into industries where the application of AI technology has previously seemed difficult. CEO Jo said, "We were inspired by Palantir in the United States and are trying to innovate legacy industries with AI," adding, "Eventually, we want to expand through AI into industries that manufacture production machinery and equipment for suppliers that deliver products to corporate clients."
