Serving More Than 1,300 People Over Two Days on the 11th and 12th
BNK Gyeongnam Bank is making various efforts to share warmth with local seniors and create a caring local community.
In the run-up to Lunar New Year, the biggest traditional holiday, BNK Gyeongnam Bank held the "Rice Cake Soup Charity Volunteer Event with BNK Gyeongnam Bank" over two days on the 11th and 12th.
The Rice Cake Soup Charity Volunteer Event held on the 12th at the Gimhae Western Senior Welfare Center was attended by BNK Gyeongnam Bank Vice President Heo Jonggu and employees, Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Park Wansu, Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council Chair Choi Hakbeom and provincial council members, Gimhae Mayor Hong Taeyong, as well as welfare center officials and other volunteers.
The volunteers served rice cake soup to around 800 local seniors and people with disabilities who visited the welfare center and shared Lunar New Year greetings with them.
After the meal service, they wrapped up the Rice Cake Soup Charity Volunteer Event by washing dishes and doing a thorough cleaning to create a pleasant environment.
Earlier, on the 11th, the "Rice Cake Soup Charity Volunteer Event with BNK Gyeongnam Bank" was held at the Changwon Seongsan Senior Welfare Center, with BNK Gyeongnam Bank Executive Director Kim Kibum and employees, Gyeongsangnam-do Council of Women’s Organizations Honorary Chair Cha Gyeongae, Gyeongsangnam-do Women and Family Foundation CEO Jeong Yeonhee, and volunteers from the Korea Clean Mind Movement in attendance.
The volunteers not only cooked the food themselves, but also served rice cake soup to about 500 seniors who visited the welfare center, putting sharing into practice.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank Vice President Heo Jonggu said, "Through the Rice Cake Soup Charity Volunteer Event, we were able to convey our warm hearts and sincerity to local seniors and people with disabilities. I hope local seniors will spend Lunar New Year in good health and happiness. Meanwhile, in addition to the Rice Cake Soup Charity Volunteer Event, BNK Gyeongnam Bank has shared warmth with vulnerable groups in the region by donating New Year gift packages, delivering contributions to the Lily Sharing Association, and holding the BNK Lunar New Year Home Run Day event.
