Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that from February 10 to 11, Deputy County Governor Lee Hobeom visited agricultural and livestock sites within the county.

During the visit, he inspected a banana-paprika cultivation farm and an African swine fever control site, and listened to the opinions of on-site stakeholders.

First, Deputy County Governor Lee visited a livestock quarantine site for blocking the spread of African swine fever, where he checked the operation of quarantine facilities and the disinfection system.

Deputy County Governor Lee urged those involved, saying, "Since advance prevention is more important than anything else when it comes to African swine fever, please strictly comply with quarantine guidelines," and emphasized, "The county government will also do its utmost in providing quarantine support and managing sites to prevent damage to livestock farms."

He then visited Hwasun Buja Farm, a banana-paprika greenhouse farm located in Dogok-myeon, where he reviewed the cultivation status and facility operations, and identified difficulties related to growth management and distribution processes.

A farm representative raised concerns about rising facility maintenance costs and difficulties in securing labor. In response, the Deputy County Governor stated, "To strengthen the competitiveness of facility horticulture in response to climate change, we will review field-oriented support measures."

Hwasun County plans to continue strengthening on-site inspections focused on key issues in the agricultural and livestock sectors, and to work on creating a stable agricultural and livestock environment through ongoing communication with farmers.
