Organized into Six Teams with Five Districts...24-Hour Emergency Response System Maintained
Daejeon City will operate an emergency food poisoning response center from February 14 to 18 to respond promptly to any food poisoning outbreaks during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The emergency center will be organized into a total of six teams with participation from the city and its five autonomous districts, and it will maintain a 24-hour emergency response system throughout the holiday period.
In particular, if any suspected food poisoning patients or group food poisoning cases are reported during the holiday, the city will immediately activate its emergency contact network to conduct cause investigations and on-site measures, respond swiftly, and make every effort to prevent further spread.
In addition, Daejeon City plans to minimize inconvenience for homecoming and returning travelers and local residents by providing information on restaurants that will be open around busy train stations and bus terminals during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Choi Donggyu, Director General of Sports and Health for Daejeon City, said, "During the holiday, the risk of food poisoning increases due to more family gatherings and dining out, so please make sure to cook food thoroughly, avoid leaving it at room temperature for long periods, and strictly follow food hygiene guidelines."
Meanwhile, information on restaurants that will be open during the Lunar New Year holiday can be found on the websites and through the duty offices of Daejeon City Hall and each district office.
