Seo Namgyo, Interior Ministry Director General, Appointed New Administrative Deputy Mayor of Ulsan City

Government Personnel Appointment as of February 12

Seo Namgyo, Director General of the Social Disaster Policy Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was appointed as the new Administrative Deputy Mayor of Ulsan City as of the 12th.

The new Administrative Deputy Mayor Seo is from Daegu, graduated from the Department of German Language and Literature at Seoul National University, and entered public service in 1999 after passing the 42nd Higher Civil Service Examination.

He has held key positions across central administration, serving as Cultural Counselor and Director of the Korean Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mexico, Director of the Department of Resident Participation and Collaboration at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Spokesperson of the Personal Information Protection Commission, Director General of Records Management at the National Archives of Korea, and Director General of the Social Disaster Policy Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. He also has extensive hands-on experience in local administration, in addition to his central government roles.

From September 2022 to February 2024, the new Administrative Deputy Mayor Seo served as Director General of the Planning and Coordination Office of Ulsan City, and is therefore regarded as having a strong understanding of key regional issues.
