SK Telecom and Krafton Recruit Development Interns Ahead of National AI Second-Stage Evaluation

Rolling Recruitment Until End of June, With Sequential Field Placement

SK Telecom's elite team, which is preparing for the government's proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) foundation model project (Dokpamo) second-stage evaluation, is launching a recruitment drive for research and development (R&D) interns.

SK Telecom and Krafton announced on the 11th that they are each recruiting around 10 interns through a job posting. The two companies plan to select AI developers who will grow by gaining hands-on experience with the SK Telecom elite team's work.

SK Telecom and Krafton Recruit Development Interns Ahead of National AI Second-Stage Evaluation The SK Telecom elite team held a workshop on the 5th to conduct a second-stage evaluation of its proprietary AI foundation model project and reviewed development strategies. At SK Telecom, current master's and doctoral students, as well as degree holders, in AI model-related fields such as computer engineering, electronic engineering, and mathematics are eligible to apply. Interns selected by SK Telecom will participate in development until the end of June, which is the preparation period for the second-stage evaluation. SK Telecom interns will be responsible for evaluating the performance of the SK Telecom elite team's foundation model, "AdotX (A.X) K1," and processing related data. They will be able to gain practical experience across core AI technology research and development, including large language model (LLM) training, data processing, and model optimization.

Krafton is recruiting interns from among holders of master's and doctoral degrees in deep learning-related fields, as well as undergraduates with equivalent research experience. Selected interns will work for three months from the date of hiring, with the possibility of extending the period through mutual agreement. Krafton interns will carry out research work such as training multimodal LLMs and conducting preliminary research, and will present their research results in the form of technical reports, papers, or workshops.

Intern recruitment will proceed on a rolling basis until the end of June. Developers who are selected earlier will be assigned to field work first, and recruitment may close early.

Meanwhile, the SK Telecom elite team held a workshop and reviewed its development strategy to systematically prepare for the second-stage evaluation. The workshop, held on the 5th at SK Telecom's headquarters in Euljiro, was attended by about 100 participants, including developers and researchers from SK Telecom, Krafton, 42dot, Rebellions, Riiid, Select Star, Seoul National University, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

The SK Telecom elite team looked back on the development process of AdotX K1 and proposed improvements for the second-stage evaluation. They also discussed ways to promote model training more efficiently while at the same time expanding derivative models into a wide range of fields.

In addition, the team plans to fully leverage the results of prior research in the second-stage evaluation. The Seoul National University research team affiliated with the SK Telecom elite team is conducting research on multimodality (Professors Yoon Seongro, Kim Geonhee, and Do Jaeyoung), mathematical reasoning (Seo Inseok), and agents (Professor Hwang Seungwon), while the KAIST research team (Professors Lee Gimin and Seo Minjun) is carrying out research on multimodality and robot learning.

Kim Taeyoon, who is in charge of SK Telecom's foundation model, said, "Through this intern recruitment, we aim to provide a foothold for next-generation AI talent to grow at the forefront of cutting-edge technology development," adding, "As young and capable intern developers join the elite team, our development momentum will be further strengthened."
