The Presidential Cup National Park Golf Tournament is a nationwide official competition organized by the Korea Park Golf Association and is considered the most prestigious park golf event in Korea, now in its third year.
Gumi City’s infrastructure and facility competitiveness played a decisive role in winning the bid. The city currently operates nine park golf courses with a total of 288 holes, three of which are registered as certified courses, making Gumi the city with the largest number of certified park golf courses in the country.
The tournament will be held over two days, from June 19 to 20, at Dongrak Park Golf Course. Dongrak Park Golf Course is the Korea Park Golf Association’s first certified course and received high marks for its symbolic significance, as well as for its layout, safety, and operational conditions, which make it well suited to hosting large-scale tournaments. Around 800 players who are registered members of the Korea Park Golf Association and have passed regional qualifying rounds will compete for the championship.
Park golf is a recreational sport that people of all ages and genders can enjoy, and its popularity is rapidly expanding. As of December 31, 2025, the Korea Park Golf Association had nearly 220,000 registered members, and the sport continues to grow nationwide. Gumi City plans to use the hosting of this Presidential Cup tournament as an opportunity to strengthen its image as the mecca of park golf and to further solidify its status as a leading city for recreational sports.
Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho said, "Hosting this Presidential Cup National Park Golf Tournament is the result of Gumi City’s park golf infrastructure and tournament management capabilities being recognized nationwide," adding, "We will further enhance the city’s image as the mecca of park golf so that players and club members visiting from across the country can experience the charm of Gumi along with park golf."
