Lee Junseok: "Cutting Ties in Front, Embracing Behind... People Power Leadership Showing Strategic 'Cowardice,' Not 'Ambiguity'"

"Publicly denying and privately appeasing the Yoon Again faction"
"Unable to either affirm or deny Jeon Yugwan's final ultimatum"
"They say 'no comment,' but who would believe a real severance?"

Lee Junseok, leader of the Reform New Party, sharply criticized the leadership of the People Power Party, saying, "In public, they draw a line with the 'Yoon Again' faction, but behind the scenes they are soothing them by asking them to wait." He judged this not as strategic ambiguity, but as strategic cowardice.

On the 10th, Lee used his Facebook account to take issue with what he called the double-faced attitude of the People Power Party leadership. He began by saying, "They say that even if you are in a tiger's jaws, you can survive if you keep your wits about you, but the People Power Party leadership is insisting it is on the tiger's side even as it is being dragged away."

Referring to revelations made by Jeon Yugwan (stage name Jeon Hangil) on YouTube, Lee argued, "The key point is that the People Power Party leadership is saying in public, 'We have never sided with the Yoon Again faction,' while behind the scenes, through Supreme Council member Kim Minsu, they have been appeasing the conspiracy theorists by telling them, 'This is only a strategic separation, so please wait.'"

In particular, citing the fact that on the same day Supreme Council member Kim stated at a Da Jayu Chong event that "We cannot win the local elections with Yoon Again," Lee remarked, "In front, they are cutting ties; behind, they are embracing them. By day, they talk of severance; by night, they say, 'Please wait.'"

Lee also pointed out that the outcome of such behavior had already been seen in the past. He said, "Former leader Hwang Kyoahn leaned on Jeon Kwanghoon's rallies and relied on the fervor of the Taegeukgi squad, only to face a crushing defeat in the 2020 general election, his resignation as party leader, and his political downfall," adding, "After that, Jeon Kwanghoon turned his sword on Hwang Kyoahn by raising the false allegation of a '5 billion won nomination fee'." He went on, "The approval ratings borrowed from them are a debt, and you will inevitably have to pay the interest."

He also put the response method of the People Power Party leadership on the chopping block. Lee said, "Jeon Yugwan issued an open final ultimatum, saying, 'Answer within three days,' but the response from the leadership side was, 'We have nothing to answer; please interpret it comfortably,'" and criticized this as "a stance where they can neither deny nor affirm." He then asked rhetorically, "Who would believe that a leadership that cannot open its mouth under pressure from a single conspiracy theorist can take the lead in severing ties with the martial law forces?"

Lee stressed, "Jeon Yugwan and the Yoon Again faction are not subjects for deals or consolation, but subjects to be sorted out," adding, "Denying the relationship in public while secretly calling them to say 'please wait' is not a strategy, but cowardice."
