Estsoft Releases "Jejueo-Specialized LLM" on Hugging Face

AI service company ESTsoft announced on the 9th that it has released its region-specialized language model, "Allen LLM Jejueo v1 4B," on the open-source platform Hugging Face.

This release is intended to secure Korea-tailored AX (AI Transformation) capabilities by training on data that reflect Korean characteristics. The Jejueo-specialized LLM, with 4 billion parameters, enables communication between Jejueo and standard Korean. This was achieved by applying open-source-based fine-tuning (a technique that turns a pre-trained general-purpose AI model into a domain expert model by additionally training it on a small dataset).

Based on its fine-tuning capabilities, ESTsoft plans to create synergy with its proprietary AI foundation model and, by combining it with various regional infrastructures, to build practical, region-specialized AX use cases in areas such as tourism and administration. Activities centered on ESTsoft's Jeju campus are also underway, including the signing of a "Business agreement for AI transformation in the Jeju region and enhancement of global competitiveness" with the Jeju Free International City Development Center.

Hyungjin Byun, Chief AI Officer (CAIO) of ESTsoft, said, "This is a representative case that demonstrates AX execution capabilities that create real service value by utilizing data specialized for the domestic environment," adding, "We will achieve successful nationwide AX by effectively linking domestically specialized AI technologies, which focus on optimization and high efficiency, with regional infrastructure."
