Guro District Recruiting Participants for Children's Democracy Program 'Guro Eorini Nara'

Applications open on the 11th... For 4th to 6th grade elementary school students

Guro District in Seoul (headed by District Mayor Jang Inhong) will be recruiting members for the 11th Guro Eorini Nara from February 11 to March 24 this year, targeting 4th to 6th grade elementary school students in the district.

'Guro Eorini Nara' is a special educational program where children found a virtual nation, enact their own constitution, and learn about democracy by proposing policies and voting on them. It was created to provide both opportunities for political experiences such as elections and general assemblies, and a platform for children to directly voice their opinions and participate in policymaking.

During the activities of the 10th group, 75 children from 21 schools participated and proposed a total of 8 policies, 6 of which were reflected in district administration, achieving tangible results.

Students who wish to participate can download the application form from the New Announcements section on the Guro District Office website and submit it by email. Existing members who wish to extend their term can continue their activities without a separate application process.

The selected members will work in six standing committees: education, traffic safety, culture and sports, food hygiene, human rights and welfare, and environment. Together with professional mentors in each field, they will take part in various programs, including agenda discussions and policy proposals, experiential learning in the field, Empathy Trip workshops, a general election to choose the President and the Top Citizen, and a general assembly.
