Sejeong Nanum Foundation Donates 60 Million Won for Hygiene and Clothing Support for Self-Support Participants

Social Contribution Support for the Geumjeong-gu Regional Self-Support Center

Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, the Sejeong Nanum Foundation has stepped up to support the livelihood stability and self-reliance of participants in self-support programs from vulnerable groups.

At a donation ceremony held on the morning of February 6 at the Sejeong Group headquarters in Bugok-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan, the Sejeong Nanum Foundation (Chairman Park Sunho) announced that it would provide a total of 60 million won to "Oneuri Gwaenchaneojineun Haru," a social contribution project promoted by the Geumjeong-gu Regional Self-Support Center.

"Oneuri Gwaenchaneojineun Haru" is a program designed to help self-support participants restore their personal hygiene. It goes beyond simple hygiene management and focuses on supporting emotional self-reliance by enabling participants to experience caring for and respecting themselves. The aim is to help them regain self-esteem and strengthen their willingness to work through a process of putting their bodies and minds in order.

This support has been prepared as a form of "productive welfare" that does not stop at one-off or consumptive welfare, but instead aims to restore the self-esteem of self-support participants and enhance their work capabilities. It is expected to provide practical help to users who struggle with basic hygiene management and clothing due to financial difficulties and poor housing conditions.

The funds will be used for regular bathing services and clothing support. A total of 10 million won will be invested in the bathing support project to provide weekly services through the end of the year for 20 self-support participants. In addition, 50 million won has been allocated for workwear and everyday clothing, which will be provided twice a year to approximately 200 users of the self-support center.

On the ground, bathing and clothing support are being evaluated as having a positive impact on self-support projects as a whole, not only by improving hygiene but also by helping to build interpersonal relationships and increase willingness to participate in work. There is a growing awareness that improving basic living conditions is the starting point for self-reliance.

Park Sunho, chairman of the Sejeong Nanum Foundation, said, "Hygiene and clothing are the minimum preparations needed to regain confidence as a member of society," adding, "I hope this support will serve as an opportunity for participants to respect themselves and focus stably on their work activities." He went on to say, "We will continue to expand customized welfare projects that can bring about tangible changes in the lives of marginalized groups."

Shin Yohan, head of the Geumjeong-gu Regional Self-Support Center, expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is very meaningful that support for bathing and clothing, which were the most urgently needed on-site, has been made possible. We will use the funds carefully so that participants can concentrate on self-support projects in a more stable environment."

The Sejeong Nanum Foundation, a social welfare corporation established by Sejeong Group, carries out a wide range of social contribution activities for low-income and vulnerable groups, including scholarship programs and housing environment improvement, under the core value of "Happy Sharing, Warmer World."
