Upbit Donates 100 Million Won Worth of Bitcoin to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee

Wishing Team Korea Success at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics

Dunamu, which operates the digital asset exchange Upbit, has donated Bitcoin worth 100 million won to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee in support of Team Korea's success at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

At 6 p.m. local time on the 5th, Upbit donated digital assets at the Korea House in Milan, Italy, to cheer on the challenges of the national team athletes and the development of winter sports in Korea. Sunghoon of Enhypen, a former figure skater and currently a public relations ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, also took part in the donation ceremony.

Starting with the opening ceremony on the 6th and continuing through the 22nd, Upbit will run a campaign delivering messages of support to all 71 national team athletes during the Olympic Games, and will continue to cheer for the team through various marketing activities, including Olympic-themed events on the Upbit application (app).

In October last year, Upbit signed an official partnership sponsorship agreement with the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and plans to serve as an official sponsor through December 2028.

Yoo Seungmin, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, said, "This special donation from Upbit, our reliable official partner, will be a great source of motivation for the athletes," adding, "The donated funds will be used carefully for the development of Korean winter sports, including nurturing youth athletes in winter disciplines."
