[Exclusive] Police Refer Seocheon Governor and Spouse to Prosecution for Alleged Violation of Public Official Election Act

The police have forwarded Seocheon County Governor Kim Kiwoong of South Chungcheong Province and his wife to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

The South Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency announced on the 6th that it had sent Governor Kim and his spouse to the prosecution without detention on suspicion of violating the Public Official Election Act by providing food and beverages to public officials under his authority at a restaurant run by his spouse.

Governor Kim is accused of having provided food and beverages to public officials under his authority at a restaurant run by his spouse in January 2024.

A police official stated, "We have forwarded Governor Kim and his spouse, identified as Ms. B, to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act."
