Fruit of Last Year's MOU
"Establishing a Model Case of Industry-Academia Cooperation"
Strengthening the Educational and Research Base for the Robotics Industry
Companies are stepping up to foster talent in physical artificial intelligence (AI).
Korea Polytechnic University announced that on February 6, it held a "Doosan Robot Donation Ceremony" at the Doosan Robotics Innovation Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, for the purpose of nurturing physical AI talent and conducting research and development in collaboration with Doosan Robotics.
This event was a follow-up to the business agreement signed between the two institutions in July last year. Doosan Robotics contributed to the development of physical AI talent by donating four collaborative robots. In addition, EX Solution, a company specializing in robot training equipment, provided all ancillary facilities, including robot-only workbenches, free of charge, helping to build a field-oriented training environment.

The donation ceremony was attended by key officials including Jung Kyunghoon, Director of Planning at Korea Polytechnic University, Kim Hyunsoo, Sales Executive Director at Doosan Robotics, and Han Jeongran, CEO of EX Solution. The participants toured the Innovation Center to share the latest trends in robot technology and discussed future cooperation plans for fostering physical AI talent at Korea Polytechnic University.
Director of Planning Jung Kyunghoon said, "This donation will serve as an important educational foundation for creating a training environment that leads directly to industrial worksites," adding, "We will continue to communicate closely with companies and do our utmost to cultivate physical AI talent demanded by industry."
Meanwhile, in line with the government's policy of fostering AI talent, Korea Polytechnic University plans to accelerate efforts to strengthen its educational capabilities in AI and robotics this year by fully promoting the establishment of a "Physical AI Training Lab" and introducing AX courses.
