The Korean mixed doubles curling team of Kim Sunyoung and Jung Youngseok has fallen into a three-game losing streak at the 2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics.

On the 6th (Korean time), Kim Sunyoung and Jung Youngseok lost 5-8 to Switzerland's husband-and-wife duo Briar Schwaller and Yannick Schwaller in their third mixed doubles preliminary match, held at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

The early flow of the game was not bad. Starting the first end with the disadvantage of having the hammer against them, Kim Sunyoung and Jung Youngseok allowed only a single point, then turned the game around by scoring two points in the second end. However, they conceded as many as four points in the third end and lost momentum. In the sixth end, they used their power play opportunity in an attempt to shift the momentum, but were held to just two points and missed their chance to catch up.

In their first two games, Kim Sunyoung and Jung Youngseok faced strong opponents and suffered back-to-back defeats. In their opening match, they lost heavily 3-10 to Sweden, the winner of the 2024 World Championship, and in their second match, they were beaten 4-8 by Italy, the champion of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

In mixed doubles curling, 10 teams play a round-robin preliminary stage, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals to determine the final standings. With three consecutive losses in their first three games, it has become difficult for them to reach the semifinals.

Kim Sunyoung and Jung Youngseok will play their fourth preliminary match against Great Britain at 10:35 p.m. on the 6th.
