A photo of a full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) occupying three compact-car parking spaces in the basement parking garage of an apartment complex in South Korea is being shared online, drawing public outrage from internet users.

On the 4th, a post titled "Parking lot in a new apartment complex... Is this normal?" along with photos was uploaded to an online community. The person who posted it first explained, "I took these photos in the underground parking garage of a newly built apartment complex," and then shared two pictures.

In the photos shared by the poster, a gray Rexton is parked in such a way that it completely occupies all three compact-car parking spaces marked off with blue lines. By taking up all of the boundary lines, it was effectively parked there as if to show off.

The poster wrote, "Because of this SUV, people are experiencing inconvenience in using the parking spaces," adding, "I plan to file a complaint with the management office, and I would like to hear from anyone with experience on how these kinds of conflicts are usually handled."

Under current law, unlike parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities, there are no legal penalty provisions such as fines for misusing compact-car parking spaces. However, building management entities recommend that only appropriate vehicles park there in order to prevent accidents and other risks.

Internet users reacted by saying, "New apartment complexes can get extremely crowded during commuting hours so parking spaces may be scarce, but this is just too inconsiderate," and "This is thoughtless parking by someone who only cares about their own convenience."
