The quality differences among companies according to the manufacturing process of Geumsan red ginseng beverages will now be managed under a standardized system.


The Geumsan Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Industry Promotion Agency is working to strengthen market competitiveness by standardizing the quality of Geumsan red ginseng beverages.


To this end, the agency is recruiting companies to participate in the Geumsan red ginseng beverage quality standardization and management project until the 20th.


The purpose of this project is to address the limitations of hygiene- and safety-focused management, and to establish quality standards for Geumsan red ginseng beverages by managing, within a standardized system, the quality differences among companies arising from active ingredients and manufacturing processes.


In last year's pilot project, 14 on-site manufacturing businesses in the county participated, completed the application of the standardized manufacturing process and passed the quality compliance tests. A satisfaction survey also recorded a high satisfaction rate of over 90%, confirming both the effectiveness of the project and its applicability in the field.


The agency plans to gradually enhance participating companies' quality management capabilities by conducting follow-up management for certified companies, supporting quality management for new participants, checking compliance with manufacturing process standards, and providing consulting for quality improvement.


The project will be operated in a way that conducts quality tests every six months to determine whether recertification is granted. The test items include three types of ginsenosides, pesticide residues, general bacteria, and coliforms.

An official from the agency said, "We will continue to advance the standardized manufacturing process and quality management system to strengthen the competitiveness of participating companies," adding, "We will enhance the reliability of the quality of Geumsan red ginseng beverages and solidify their status as a leading local product category."
