Apple Launches Promotions on App Store, Music, and TV for Lunar New Year Holiday

Apple announced on February 2 that it will hold promotions on the App Store, Apple Music, and Apple TV starting from the 1st of this month to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday.

First, the App Store will run a Lunar New Year campaign themed 'Exciting and Thrilling New Year' until the 18th of this month. This campaign features a carefully selected list of apps and games to enjoy during the holiday, as well as essential apps to help achieve New Year’s goals.

In celebration of Lunar New Year, App Store editors will recommend a total of 26 must-have apps, including games they personally enjoy, as well as apps in artificial intelligence (AI), education, and productivity. They will also recommend webtoon and web novel apps, as well as entertainment content such as Tving and Coupang Play, which are perfect for enjoying during the holiday.

There are also promotions for users who make purchases of paid apps or content through the App Store. Depending on the payment amount, Kakao Pay users can receive up to 10,000 points, while Naver Pay users can receive up to 50% point rewards.

Apple TV will offer the first episodes of popular titles for free until the 18th of this month in celebration of the Lunar New Year. The first episodes of major titles such as the global K-pop competition show 'KPOPPED', the spy drama 'Slow Horses', Apple TV original drama 'Severance', and 'Pachinko' will be available for free.

Apple Music will release the 'Lunar New Year 2026' playlist, carefully curated by editors for families to enjoy together during the holiday. In addition, playlists selected by artists such as Cortis, ILLIT, All Day Project, Hearts2Hearts, and Han Roro specifically for Lunar New Year will also be released.
