Han Donghoon Supporters Rally in Yeouido: "Jang Donghyeok Must Resign Over Unjust Disciplinary Action"

Supporters of former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon held a rally demanding the resignation of the party leadership.

At the rally held in Yeouido on January 31, Han's supporters chanted slogans such as "Expulsion is useless, Han Donghoon will rise again," "Remove Jang Donghyeok," and "Yoon Again, get lost."

Kim Jonghyuk, former Supreme Council member, stated from the podium, "On January 29, the moment the expulsion of former leader Han was finalized, the People Power Party we loved died," emphasizing, "By ousting Han Donghoon and reverting to the unconstitutional Yoon Again party, the party has pronounced its own death sentence." Conservative commentator Cho Gabje, CEO of ChoGabje.com, said, "Those who make a living by spreading conspiracy theories about election fraud should be sent to prison."

The organizers claimed that around 100,000 people participated in the rally. Participants marched through the Yeouido area holding placards reading "We will protect the true conservative Han Donghoon" and "Jang Donghyeok, who carried out unjust disciplinary action, be prepared."

Former leader Han did not attend the rally. However, he posted real-time comments on the fan platform "Hancut," saying, "Thank you," "I'm relieved the weather is less cold," and "I will create a better country through good politics." Han is also planning to hold a talk concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium on February 8 as part of efforts to rally his supporters.

Meanwhile, Park Sunghoon, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, commented on the rally by Han's supporters, saying, "We will humbly listen to their voices," but added, "However, the majority of party members believe that now is the time for the party to move forward toward the future."

He also responded to some calls within the party for Jang's resignation or a vote of confidence by saying, "The party leader was elected by a vote of all party members."
