On January 31, President Lee Jae-myung emphasized, "Does it seem impossible to normalize the 'ruinous real estate' situation? If we trust the people and endure criticism without calculating votes, it can be done."

On this day, President Lee shared an article titled "Have Homeowners Surrendered? Seoul Apartment Prices Hit the Brakes" through his X (formerly Twitter) account and made these remarks.

The article reported that Seoul apartment prices had slightly declined after the government mentioned reforms to the real estate tax system.

President Lee referenced his previous efforts to normalize illegal streams during his tenure as Governor of Gyeonggi Province, as well as achieving the KOSPI 5000 milestone after taking office, stating, "Normalizing real estate is the '5000-pi,' and it is much easier and more important than stream maintenance."

He further warned, "I hope you seize the opportunity when it arises. You will soon realize that this was the last chance."

This statement is interpreted as being directed at multi-homeowners who are holding back from listing their properties, expecting that housing prices will not fall.
