Blocking Screen Exposure...
Pixel-Level Protection and
Five Years of Customized Privacy Development
On January 28, Samsung Electronics announced that it has developed next-generation privacy technology that reduces the viewing angle to protect mobile device screens from prying eyes.
According to the Samsung Electronics Newsroom, this technology was designed with the understanding that each user requires a different level of privacy protection, allowing for detailed adjustments to the strength of the protection. The feature can be activated only for specific applications or notifications, and users can freely control the degree of external visibility blocking through adjustable visibility options.
Samsung Electronics stated that, to implement this technology, it has spent more than five years researching and developing users’ smartphone usage patterns, privacy awareness, and daily security requirements. Until now, the company has established a multi-layered security system with hardware security solutions such as "Knox Vault" and "Knox Matrix," which protects connectivity between devices.
This feature is expected to be applied for the first time to the "Galaxy S26 Ultra," which is scheduled to be released next month. With this new feature, users will no longer have to worry as much about screen exposure even during crowded commutes. It provides privacy protection at a level comparable to that of privacy screen protectors, without the inconvenience of reduced image quality or screen brightness.
Samsung Electronics plans to further innovate mobile security technology by expanding the scope of protection down to the display pixel level with the introduction of this feature.
