The National Security Office at the Presidential Office on January 27 called for the immediate halt of North Korea's launch of several ballistic missiles into the East Sea.
Immediately after North Korea's missile launches, the National Security Office convened an 'Emergency Security Situation Assessment Meeting' attended by relevant agencies, including the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The office analyzed the current situation, assessed its impact on national security, and reviewed and directed necessary measures for maintaining readiness among relevant agencies.
The National Security Office stated, "North Korea's ballistic missile launches are a provocative act that violates United Nations Security Council resolutions, and we urge their immediate cessation."
The National Security Office reported the situation regarding North Korea's ballistic missile launches and the response measures taken by South Korea to President Lee Jaemyung.
