"AI Adoption in Schools Should Not Be an Administrative Burden"... Seoul Education Office to Hold Forum on the 27th

On this day, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will seek ways to reduce the administrative burden on teachers while continuing to innovate AI and digital-based classes through the 'Seoul Edutech Soft Lab Connect Forum.'

Opinions from the field will also be shared regarding the increased workload at schools due to the mandatory review of all learning support software by the School Steering Committee, which has been required since this year.

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education maintains that while the purpose of the revised law to protect students' personal information should be upheld, institutional improvements are needed to ensure that AI and digital-based education is not hindered.

This forum will share practical case studies from the Seoul Edutech Soft Lab and discuss concrete support measures to reduce confusion experienced at schools during the software adoption process.

Meanwhile, alongside the forum, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a total of four online briefings for schools on learning support software from January 28 to 29. These sessions will focus on communication by sharing the Office’s preparations and directly listening to feedback and suggestions from the field through Q&A sessions.

Superintendent Jeong Geunsik stated, "The goal of introducing safe and educationally effective AI and edutech should not translate into an administrative burden for schools," adding, "We will develop practical solutions to create an environment where teachers are not tied up in administrative procedures and can fully focus on classroom innovation."
