"Marriage and Starting a Business Made My Emotions Complicated"... Jo Min Holds Fan Signing Event for Second Book Release

Second Book Released
Signing Event to Be Held on January 25

Jo Min, 34, the daughter of Cho Kuk, leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, will hold a fan signing event on January 25 at the Kyobo Book Centre Gangnam branch in Seoul to celebrate the release of her second book.

On the previous day, Jo announced on her Instagram account, "I will be holding a one-hour signing event at the Kyobo Book Centre Gangnam branch to commemorate the book release."

She added, "Due to store policy, only books purchased at the Kyobo Book Centre Gangnam branch on the day of the event are eligible for signing, so please keep this in mind," and encouraged, "I hope many of you will come and join us."

According to the poster Jo shared, the signing event will take place at 3:00 p.m. that day in the event zone next to the bestseller section at the Kyobo Book Centre Gangnam branch.

Last month, Jo published her second essay, "Good Days Will Surely Come." The book contains her thoughts and feelings as she experienced major life changes over the past two years, including marriage and starting a business. On her YouTube channel, she introduced the book by saying, "The title of this book is something I want to say to someone else, but it's also what I most wanted to hear myself."

She shared, "While preparing my second book, I got married and also started a business and a startup. As I faced more practical choices and my sense of responsibility grew, my emotions became more complicated, and I began to seriously reflect on what 'happiness' means."

She continued, "When I wrote my first essay, I was someone who only looked ahead and kept moving forward, without taking the time to look around me. During that process, I started to ask myself, 'Am I truly happy?'" She added, "I think this book will be especially meaningful for those who are confused about what happiness is or are going through difficult times, rather than those who are already happy."

Jo published her first essay, "I Am Still Moving Forward Today," in 2023. The book attracted attention by ranking fifth on the bestseller list in its first week of release, and later even surpassed "The Tears of Dike," a book by her father Cho Kuk, which was ranked third at the time, to reach the number one spot.

Jo was convicted and fined 10 million won for her involvement in the so-called "admissions fraud" case, in which she, together with her parents, submitted false documents such as a Dongyang University president's commendation to Seoul National University's Graduate School of Medicine. The sentence has been finalized.
