Government Begins Additional Recruitment for Elite Teams Today

KT has decided not to participate in the government's additional recruitment for the 'Independent AI Foundation Model' elite team project.

On the 23rd, KT announced, "We have decided not to participate in the additional recruitment for the selection of an elite team." Starting today and until February 12, the government will recruit one additional elite team, evaluating candidates based on their technological capabilities and contributions to the AI ecosystem, to ensure meaningful competition with the existing elite teams.

Previously, KT participated in the initial recruitment phase, when the government aimed to select five elite teams for the Independent AI Foundation Model project, but was not selected. As this additional recruitment is intended to fill a vacancy created by an unexpected result in the first round of evaluations, KT's potential re-entry had naturally become a topic of industry interest.

KT explained, "Based on our accumulated AI, network, and data capabilities, we will continue to explore various ways to contribute to strengthening Korea's AI competitiveness in line with our own strategies."
