Goheung County in South Jeolla Province announced that it will officially launch the "Space Railroad 999" train travel package in partnership with Korail this February, offering space-level benefits and marking the start of a full-scale countdown toward the "Era of 10 Million Tourists."

The core of this project is the "nation’s best cashback." Linked with Korail’s local tourism rail program, this package provides a 50% discount coupon on train fares to travelers who visit Goheung by train and complete a QR code verification at just one of six designated tourist attractions.

However, Goheung’s true allure begins after that. The county has focused its efforts on "stay-type tourism," encouraging visitors to immerse themselves deeply in the region. Travelers who meet certain conditions-such as staying at least one night in Goheung and dining at local restaurants-will receive a generous 100,000 won mobile Goheung Love Gift Certificate per person.

The cashback process is also smart and streamlined. Travelers install the "Local Gift Certificate chak" app before their trip, and after their visit, submit supporting documents to the Goheung Tourism website. Upon verification, the gift certificate is issued. This showcases the county’s sophisticated administration, leveraging digital platforms to enhance travel convenience.

An official from the county’s tourism policy office stated, "The Space Railroad 999 travel package was created to brand Goheung as a hub of space and aviation, attract train travelers, and bring real vitality to the local economy. We hope many people will experience the unique benefits available only in Goheung, along with the special romance of train travel."
