This program targets tractors and combines manufactured before December 31, 2012. The city has allocated 74 million won for the project and will provide subsidies for the scrapping of a total of 37 old agricultural machines.
Eligible applicants are farmers who, as of the application date, own agricultural machinery that has been registered and in normal operation in the Nonghyup tax-free fuel management system for at least six months. Subsidies will be prioritized for older agricultural machines among the models applied for.
Those wishing to participate must visit their local administrative welfare center in person to apply between January 23 and February 6. The subsidy amount will vary depending on the model, specifications, and year of manufacture. For more details, applicants can contact the Rice Love Team at the Agricultural Policy Division of the Icheon Agricultural Technology Center or the agricultural machinery department of their local township or district office.
An official from Icheon City stated, "We hope this program will help reduce fine dust emissions from old agricultural machinery and make a tangible contribution to improving the air quality in rural areas."
