Improvements for Communal Facilities and More
Nowon-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is launching the “2026 Apartment Support Project” to create a pleasant and safe residential environment and to revitalize the local community.
The support project is divided into three categories: maintenance of communal facilities, improvement of community activation facilities, and basic facilities for apartment security and cleaning staff. The communal facilities maintenance category includes sewer repair and dredging, expansion and repair of parking lots, installation of closed-circuit (CC) TV, reinforcement of disaster safety facilities, and installation of eco-friendly facilities. The level of deterioration and necessity of each complex will be comprehensively evaluated, and up to 30 million won will be provided per complex, covering 50-60% of the total project cost.
For the improvement of community activation facilities, up to 10 million won per complex will be provided for the installation and renovation of resident cafes, classrooms, childcare facilities, and multipurpose community facilities.
The project to improve the working environment for security and cleaning staff will support up to 4 million won per complex for the improvement of basic facilities such as workspaces, break rooms, and restrooms, as well as the purchase of equipment such as beds and cabinets.
Applications can be submitted in person at the Apartment Support Division from February 2 to 27. Supported complexes will be selected after a review process in March, and agreements with the selected complexes will be signed in April.
The district is also working to strengthen the capacity of management entities and mediate resident conflicts by operating education programs for building representatives, a mobile apartment dispute mediation team, a legal counseling office for apartment complexes, and a visiting orchestra program.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, stated, “The residential environment of apartment complexes is a core factor directly linked to the quality of life of our residents,” and added, “We will continue to expand not only facility improvements but also community projects where neighbors can come together.”
