Korea Investment IMA S2 Attracts 740 Billion Won in Four Business Days

Expansion of New Customer Base Confirmed
Third IMA Product Also in Preparation

Korea Investment & Securities announced on January 22 that its second Integrated Management Account (IMA) product, "Korea Investment IMA S2," completed its fundraising after attracting approximately 738.4 billion won over four business days.

The company emphasized that this second round of fundraising resumed just 14 business days after the launch of the first product, yet large-scale capital inflows were seen again, reaffirming investors’ strong interest and demand for IMAs. Including the first IMA product introduced in December last year, a total of about 1.8 trillion won has flowed into the IMA offerings.

The expansion of the new customer base and the trend of external capital inflows were also clearly evident. Of the funds raised from individual customers for this product, 11% came from new trading clients, and 56.8% were newly sourced from other financial institutions. A Korea Investment & Securities official stated, "Compared to the first round, the proportion of new funds has increased, indicating an ongoing 'money move' reflecting growing interest in financial investment." The official added, "Our performance is attributable to the organic combination of deal sourcing capabilities based on our investment banking competitiveness, operational know-how accumulated as the country’s first issuer of promissory notes, and strengthened retail sales power."

Korea Investment & Securities is also preparing to launch its third IMA product. The company plans to selectively utilize secured IB deals and managed assets to diversify maturity structures and asset compositions, while gradually expanding its product lineup in line with market demand and the investment environment.

Kim Sunghwan, CEO of Korea Investment & Securities, stated, "The rapid inflow of funds into the second IMA product demonstrates that customers recognize IMAs as a reliable investment vehicle for mid- to long-term asset management." He added, "Based on our IB competitiveness and experience in managing promissory notes, we will sequentially introduce follow-up IMA products and establish ourselves as a corporate finance-based investment platform that contributes to customers' asset growth."
