KAMCO Connects Vulnerable Groups to Jobs Beyond One-Off Support

Joining Forces with the Social Innovation Research Institute for Upgrading
11 Trainees Achieve Employment at Social Enterprises

Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) has successfully facilitated practical job placements for vulnerable groups by collaborating with regional social enterprises.

KAMCO and the Social Innovation Research Institute announced on January 22 that they had concluded the "2025 KAMCO Vulnerable Groups Upgrading Employment Support Project," which aims to strengthen the employment capabilities of vulnerable groups in the region. On January 21, they held a results-sharing event at KAMCO Maru, located in the Busan International Finance Center.

This project goes beyond basic education or one-off support, focusing on improving access to employment for vulnerable groups and creating a structure that leads to economic self-reliance. It is characterized by providing demand-oriented job training and work experience opportunities, and was designed to achieve actual job placements through cooperation with regional social enterprises.

Seven social enterprises from the Busan and Gimhae areas participated, offering highly practical job training such as cognitive activity education for seniors, art and board game instructor courses, barista certification programs, and home repair specialist courses. A total of 61 people took part in the training, with 55 completing the program, resulting in a high completion rate of over 90%.

The training was not limited to theory but centered on hands-on practice and collaboration in real work environments. Both participating companies and trainees worked together on assignments to gain field experience, establishing a structure that allowed for mutual verification of job suitability.

As a result, some trainees were directly hired by participating companies or entered into freelance contracts, with a total of nine people securing jobs. Including two additional individuals who found employment through separate job matching efforts, the project achieved a total of 11 employment outcomes. For social enterprises, the project was also significant in that it provided a foundation for identifying suitable talent for their organizations in advance.

Min Eunmi, Director of Household Support at KAMCO, said, "It is especially meaningful that this support project has led to cases where training resulted in actual employment. We will continue to provide support that offers tangible benefits to local communities and vulnerable groups."

A representative of the Social Innovation Research Institute commented, "It is significant that a public institution directly identified local social issues and created a solution by combining the expertise of social enterprises. We have established an effective model that goes beyond education-centered social contribution to provide work experience and employment opportunities."

The Social Innovation Research Institute operates a variety of programs to support the innovative growth of social enterprises through public-private cooperation, striving to create social value based in the region and to build a sustainable corporate ecosystem.
