Civil Services, Job Counseling, and Tax Consultation Offered

Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gilseong) announced on January 22 that it will continue to operate the 'Nighttime Civil Service Package' this year for residents who have difficulty visiting the district office during the day.

The district office will extend the operating hours of the civil service office on the first floor by two hours every Monday and Wednesday, remaining open until 8 p.m. The first 'Nighttime Civil Service Office' of the year will open on January 28. At the nighttime office, residents can obtain various certificates such as resident registration certificates and seal certificates, as well as file family relationship registrations and apply for or receive passports.

Last year, about 2,000 people visited Jung-gu’s nighttime civil service office. Of these, approximately 10.7% (215 cases) visited for family relationship registration, 26% (519 cases) for passport applications, and 58.7% (1,173 cases) for passport issuance.

On the last Wednesday of every month, 'Nighttime Job Counseling' is also offered alongside the nighttime civil service office. Professional job counselors provide one-stop support for job seekers and employers, including registration, counseling, and job placement. Since its launch in March last year, the nighttime job counseling service has facilitated over 40 cases of job registration, counseling, and placement.

The 'Nighttime Tax Consultation Room' operates free of charge every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the small library on the first floor of the district office. Tax accountants with various backgrounds, including former National Tax Service officials, and tax staff provide personalized one-on-one consultations to address questions about national and local taxes.

The number of nighttime tax consultations has increased each year, with 171 cases in 2023, 182 cases in 2024, and 287 cases in 2025. User satisfaction has reached 97.5%. Consultations can be requested online via the Jung-gu District Office website or by phone at the Local Income Tax Division (02-3396-5221).

District Mayor Kim Gilseong stated, "We are operating a variety of district office services at night for residents with busy daily schedules," adding, "We will continue to expand convenient and reliable administrative services that residents can truly experience."
