Daewoo Engineering & Construction has partnered with the American global design firm JERDE to enhance the high-end residential complex design for the redevelopment project in Hannam District 2, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. JERDE is a renowned global architectural design company that has designed landmarks such as the Dubai International Financial Centre and Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on January 22 that it recently held a joint design meeting with the union, JERDE, and the domestic design firm Nowdongin at the Summit Gallery in Daechi-dong. During the meeting, they reviewed the layout of the complex, exterior design, and spatial composition.
For this project, JERDE will be directly involved not only in the concept design but also through to the detailed design phase. It is unusual for a global design firm to participate in the detailed design stage of a domestic redevelopment project.
On the JERDE side, Senior Designer John Paulin, who has over 30 years of experience, will oversee the design. He has participated in projects such as the Al Jubail Master Plan in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the Keppel Land Park Avenue Town Plan in Shanghai, and the Sydney Wharf mixed-use development.

Hannam District 2 is a large-scale redevelopment site with views of the Han River and Yongsan Family Park, and it will be designed as a low-rise complex with a maximum of 15 floors. Daewoo Engineering & Construction plans to apply its premium brand, Summit, to the project.
Meanwhile, Hannam District 2 will begin the relocation process starting January 23.
