Each Donate 100 Million Won
Korea University Medical Center announced on January 22 that it had received a donation of 200 million won from Hong Minpyo, CEO of Brother Corporation, and Kim Daejung, Chairman of Daegong Development, for the development of the College of Medicine and essential medical fields.

The donation ceremony was attended by key officials and donors, including Kim Dongwon, President of Korea University, Yoon Eulsik, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and Director of the Medical Center, and Pyeon Seongbeom, Dean of the College of Medicine.
This donation was made through a 1:1 matching program, with the university contributing an equal amount, bringing the total to 400 million won. The funds will be used to support scholarships for the College of Medicine, foster talent in essential medical fields, and strengthen the educational and research environment.
Hong, who graduated from the Korea University Business School in 1978, donated 100 million won for the advancement of the College of Medicine and essential medical fields. Kim, a 1979 graduate of the Korea University Business School, previously donated 100 million won to the College of Medicine's development fund in 2013 and has now contributed an additional 100 million won to support essential medical services and nurture future talent.
The donors stated, "We hope this donation will serve as an opportunity to expand social interest and support for essential medical services."
President Kim said, "We will make the best use of our alumni's intentions to advance essential medical fields and foster future talent." Yoon, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and Director of the Medical Center, added, "This donation will be a strong driving force supporting the field of essential medicine and a great encouragement to both students and medical staff."
