Hwee Young Choi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will visit The Hyundai Seoul on January 22 to inspect the progress of the 2026 Korea Grand Sale.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that Minister Choi will observe the service sites for foreign tourists and listen to on-site feedback aimed at increasing the number of international visitors.

Minister Choi, together with Lee Boo Jin, Chairperson of the Visit Korea Committee, will participate in the Korea Grand Sale experience event, the "K-Sauce Korean Cuisine Cooking Class," to extend a warm welcome to foreign tourists. Following this, Minister Choi will visit "Wiggle Wiggle," a participating store in the Korea Grand Sale, to check on the event's progress, including the benefits offered, promotional activities, and marketing efforts. Additionally, Minister Choi will visit the concierge desk at The Hyundai Seoul to review various services provided to foreign tourists at the shopping site, such as luggage storage, multilingual information, and instant VAT refunds.
The Korea Grand Sale is a shopping tourism festival held during the off-season for inbound tourism, designed to promote travel to Korea and encourage spending by foreign visitors. The 2026 Korea Grand Sale began on December 17 and will continue until February 22.
Minister Choi stated, "Seeing the bustling crowds of foreign visitors makes it clear that we achieved a record number of inbound tourists last year. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to combine warm and attentive hospitality with creative and diverse events based on K-culture, such as the Korea Grand Sale, to attract even more international visitors to Korea."
