As the construction of the National Assembly Sejong Office and the Presidential Sejong Office accelerates, efforts to establish transportation measures are also gaining momentum.
The National Agency for Administrative City Construction (NAACC) announced on the 21st that it has formed the 'National Symbolic Area Traffic Measures Task Force (TF)' and held its first meeting. The National Symbolic Area refers to the area in Sejong City where the National Assembly building and the Presidential office will be located, and it is expected to experience a significant concentration of traffic demand in the future.

The task force is led by the Deputy Administrator of the NAACC and includes participation from Sejong City, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and Sejong Urban Transport Corporation, with advisory support from the Korea Transport Institute, the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, as well as professors from Gongju National University and KAIST. The task force will review measures focusing on five key directions: strengthening a public transportation-centered system, improving roads expected to experience congestion, separating regional and internal transportation functions, balancing private vehicle demand management and parking convenience, and utilizing smart technologies.
The main tasks include connecting to the Capital Region Express Train (CTX) station, introducing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and circular shuttles, reorganizing the internal road network, separating regional and internal transportation functions, and managing parking demand. The effectiveness of these measures will be verified using 'digital twin' technology, which replicates real-world conditions in a virtual space. The NAACC plans to announce a comprehensive transportation plan by July, alongside ongoing research to further develop the master plan.
Choi Hyungwook, Deputy Administrator of the NAACC, stated, "We will work closely with relevant agencies and experts to establish a safe and efficient transportation system."
