Free Consultations Every Wednesday
Support for Unauthorized Buildings and Architectural Procedures
Gwangsan District in Gwangju will continue to operate the "Mobile Architectural Civil Complaints Support Center" this year to alleviate the burden of architectural civil complaints for residents.
On January 21, Gwangsan District announced that it would operate the Mobile Architectural Civil Complaints Support Center to ease the economic burden on citizens caused by architectural civil complaints during the economic downturn and to strengthen architectural administrative services.
The support center is held every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the year at the Architecture Department on the 5th floor of the Gwangsan District Office. Twenty local architects participate to provide free consultations on the entire architectural process and the legalization of unauthorized buildings.
For residents who have difficulty moving, such as the elderly and those with limited mobility, both remote consultations and on-site consultations are offered. If on-site consulting is needed, residents are matched one-on-one with an architect for direct on-site support.
Citizens wishing to use the service can apply by phone or by visiting the district office. Online applications are also available through the Gwangsan District architectural administration artificial intelligence (AI) platform.
Meanwhile, last year, Gwangsan District resolved a total of 231 civil complaints through the Mobile Architectural Civil Complaints Support Center. Resident satisfaction was 89 percent, while satisfaction among users of online preliminary consultations and on-site consulting linked to the architectural administration AI platform was recorded at 92 percent.
