Man in His 50s Urgently Arrested After Stabbing Acquaintance Who Tried to Stop Him, Saying "I Won't Let It Go"

A man in his 50s was arrested by police after stabbing an acquaintance who tried to stop him from attacking another person with whom he had argued.

The Masan Dongbu Police Station in South Gyeongsang Province announced on January 21 that it had urgently apprehended a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to police, at approximately 12:45 a.m. on the same day, Mr. A allegedly attempted to kill a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. B, whom he knew personally, by stabbing him once with a weapon at Mr. B's residence in Hoewon-dong, Masan Hoewon-gu, Changwon.

It was determined that just before the incident, Mr. A, who was intoxicated, told Mr. B that he would go after another acquaintance with whom he had previously argued, while holding a weapon.

At Mr. B's residence, Mr. A reportedly said, "There is someone I have argued with, and I won't let it go," and left with the weapon. When Mr. B tried to stop him, Mr. A stabbed Mr. B once in the side.

Mr. B sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

After receiving a report from a neighbor of Mr. B, police responded and apprehended Mr. A at a nearby motel at approximately 4:10 a.m. on the same day.

Mr. A has reportedly admitted to the crime during police questioning.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A after further investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident.
