Alleviating Booking Difficulties at Existing Campground... 50 Additional Auto Camping Sites
Spacious 10×10m Sites and Modern Amenities
Expansion of Extended-Stay Tourism Expected... Official Opening on January 24
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province announced that it has completed the construction of the 'Gumi Nakdong River Second Campground,' a project aimed at providing citizens and tourists with a nature-friendly leisure space in the heart of the city, and that the campground will officially open on January 24.
This project was launched to meet the high demand for the existing Nakdong River Campground and to create a more comfortable camping environment. Construction began in August 2024 with a total project cost of 3.4 billion won, and 50 new auto camping sites were established within the Nakdong River Sports Park area.
The core feature of the Second Campground is its 'spacious site design.' Each site measures 10×10 meters, ensuring ample space for large tents or caravans and allowing for comfortable movement. To enhance convenience, the campground is equipped with two shower rooms, two restrooms, and one dishwashing area, all featuring modern amenities. For families, a children's playground and a nine-hole mini golf course have also been installed, allowing visitors to enjoy both camping and leisure activities simultaneously.
The existing Gumi Nakdong River Campground operates 15 caravan sites and 75 auto camping sites, with a total of 196 sites. In 2025 alone, it attracted as many as 180,000 visitors, highlighting its popularity. The city expects that the opening of the Second Campground will help alleviate chronic booking difficulties and expand demand for extended-stay tourism, thereby contributing to revitalizing the local economy.
The usage fee is 30,000 won per day during the off-season and 40,000 won during the peak season. Gumi residents who verify their address are eligible for a 20% discount year-round, regardless of the season. Reservations have been available online through the Gumi Urban Corporation website since January 17.
Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "The Nakdong River Second Campground is an extended-stay camping site where visitors can fully enjoy nature and the river breeze close to the city center. We will do our utmost to ensure safe and pleasant operations so that visitors can leave behind the fatigue of daily life and enjoy a comfortable rest."
