Over 800 Export Consultations and Active Investment Discussions
Back-to-Back Meetings with Global Giants Including Amazon
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on January 21 that they achieved record-breaking results by operating the "KOCCA Joint Pavilion" at "CES 2026," held in Las Vegas, USA from January 6 to 9 (local time).
The most significant achievement was undoubtedly the demonstration of technological capabilities. Of the thirteen participating institutions that received research and development (R&D) support from the Ministry, seven won the "CES Innovation Award." This proves that K-Culture Tech has moved beyond mere ideas to possess a level of technological sophistication that is competitive in the global market.
The award-winning companies included the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Dot, which developed a display for the visually impaired, Toonsquare, an AI webtoon creation platform, and Audioguy, which showcased spatial audio technology. From AI-based media production to virtual humans and holograms, these innovative models that blend content and technology captivated local visitors.
The on-site response to these innovative technologies was also enthusiastic. Over the four days, the joint pavilion attracted 2,584 visitors, and 813 technology demonstrations and business consultations took place. A representative from the Korea Creative Content Agency stated, "On-site, we set a target of signing twenty memorandums of understanding (MOUs) for exports and investments, reflecting the active and practical business discussions that took place."
The Korea Creative Content Agency also focused on serving as a bridge between Korean companies and global capital by hosting "K-Culture Tech Connect 2026." The event brought together about forty global investors and technology experts, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Odyssey Ventures, and Keystone Bridge, who engaged in in-depth discussions with Korean companies about concrete business models.
Kim Myungha, Director of the Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism Technology Advancement, stated, "This CES demonstrated that our culture technology (CT) has evolved beyond the laboratory into 'practical business' that attracts responses from global capital and markets. We will provide support throughout the entire cycle, from planning to overseas expansion."
