Integrating the K-pop Production System with a 130 Million Follower IP
On January 21, Hive America announced that it will co-produce a series with Netflix and creator Alan Chikin Chow, depicting the formation of a global pop group utilizing the K-pop production system.
This project gained momentum as Netflix joined as a production partner to the partnership established last year with Alan Chikin Chow, who has 130 million followers.
The new series will follow the story of aspiring artists who form a co-ed band after entering an arts academy. The storyline, proven through the YouTube series "Alan's Universe," is a key feature. The cast will debut new songs within the series and begin their activities as artists.
The core of the project is the application of Hive’s K-pop production system and expertise. Previously, Hive launched the global girl group KATSEYE through the audition project "The Debut: Dream Academy" and released a documentary about the production process on Netflix.
Alan Chikin Chow stated, "This project brings together the creative teams of Hive America, a leader in entertainment culture, and Netflix to introduce a new pop group," adding, "We aim to deliver creative inspiration and enjoyment to global fans through storytelling."
James Shin, President of Film and TV at Hive America, emphasized, "This series will serve as a cultural model showcasing the process of creating a pop group," and added, "We will produce an innovative work that expands the audience base and introduces new ways to build fandom."
