On-site Guidance to Secure Fire Truck Access Routes
Goseong County, in collaboration with the Goseong Fire Station, conducted a "Fire Truck Access Route Securing Training" and deployed vehicles to crack down on illegal parking. The county also carried out on-site guidance activities targeting illegally parked vehicles that obstruct fire truck access and emergency response routes.
The training, held on January 19, was designed to secure the golden time for fire truck dispatch in emergencies such as fires. The drill started at the Goseong Fire Station and proceeded through Songhak Intersection, Dongoe Square Intersection, Hanjeon Three-way Intersection, Goseong County Office, Seoe Five-way Intersection, Songhak Square Intersection, and concluded at Goseong Market. Through this initiative, the county aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of securing fire truck access routes and to promote a culture of safety among residents.
Jang Eunchang, Director of the Urban Transportation Division, stated, "Securing the golden time for fire trucks is directly linked to protecting the lives and property of our residents. We will continue our efforts to eliminate illegal parking that obstructs fire truck access routes." He also appealed, "We ask all residents to actively participate in making way for fire trucks and eradicating illegal parking at all times."
Meanwhile, parking or stopping within 5 meters of a fire hydrant is subject to a fine of 80,000 won for passenger vehicles and 90,000 won for vans, according to the Road Traffic Act.
