NH Investment & Securities announced on January 20 that it will implement enhanced internal control measures by including the family accounts of all executives in its monitoring scope. This measure aims to preemptively block the possibility of unfair trading and to strengthen the accountability and transparency of management.
Previously, NH Investment & Securities had registered and managed only the family accounts of employees in departments with a high potential for conflicts of interest, such as the Investment Banking (IB) division. However, with this new measure, the company will expand its monitoring to cover the family accounts of all executives, and in the second half of the year, it plans to conduct sample inspections of the reported accounts. This implementation plan is part of the 'Trust Enhancement Measures' developed by the internal control enhancement task force (TFT) launched in November last year.
The expansion of monitoring to all executives reflects the company's intention to apply stricter internal control standards starting with the management, who are the main decision-makers. Through this, the company aims to preemptively block legal and reputational risks related to unfair trading and enhance trust with the market and customers. The NH Investment & Securities internal control enhancement TFT has already implemented strong trust recovery measures, such as announcing the 'Trust Enhancement Measures.' In particular, the company has strengthened its management system for undisclosed material information by introducing a 'Project Participation Management System' that registers and manages all employees who handle or have access to such information.
Yoon Byungwoon, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, stated, "This means that the principle of prioritizing the interests of customers over those of the company and its employees will be clearly reflected throughout our management." He added, "We will continue to strengthen our ethical management and responsible management systems, with the internal control TFT at the center."
