Hamyang County Celebrates the First Anniversary of 'OrGo Hamyang' with Enthusiasm

Commemorating One Year of 'OrGo Hamyang'
in Conjunction with the 10th Jirisan Hamyang Gotgam Festival

Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on January 20 that it successfully held the first anniversary ceremony of 'OrGo Hamyang' at Sangnim Park, where the 10th Jirisan Hamyang Gotgam Festival took place.

The ceremony began with a report on the preparation process for 'OrGo Hamyang' and a review of its first year of operation. This was followed by commendations for contributors, including the Hamyang Fire Station, which supported on-site hiking safety, the presentation of commemorative medals to those who completed all 15 peaks, and a time capsule sealing performance containing key records such as the list of all finishers and commemorative medals.

Additionally, on the day of the ceremony, an event was held to provide Hamyang Love Gift Certificates in the form of gotgam discount vouchers to both visitors who had completed at least one peak and those who had previously completed all 15 peaks. This further promoted Hamyang Gotgam and stimulated local consumption.

In his commemorative address, Hamyang County Governor Jin Byeongyeong stated, "The dedication and passion of all challengers have become the history of 'OrGo Hamyang,' and the precious experiences gained over the past year have laid the foundation for a new beginning. Moving forward, we will continue to ensure that even more challengers can create meaningful memories through 'OrGo Hamyang.'"

'OrGo Hamyang' is a mountain completion certification program that awards souvenirs to those who climb all 15 famous peaks over 1,000 meters in Hamyang County, stretching from Jirisan to Deogyusan. The program provides commemorative pure silver medals produced by Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation and local gift certificates as completion souvenirs. It has been well received as a mountain tourism content that both increases visitor numbers and revitalizes the local economy by encouraging regional spending.
