How Should Universities Promote Themselves in the AI Era?... Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju University Public Relations Council Winter Workshop

Choi Jisung of Pukyong National University Appointed as Next Council Chairman

The Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Regional University Public Relations Council (Chairman: Jung Yuntae, Head of Public Relations at Tongmyong University) held the "2025 Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Regional University Public Relations Council Winter Workshop" at Dong-Eui University in Busan on January 16, 2026.

The event was attended by more than 50 participants, including public relations team leaders from member universities and the president of the Korea University Public Relations Council. The program included a special lecture on university public relations strategy, a plaque of appreciation awarded to retiring staff, and the announcement of the next council chair university, among other activities. The workshop also provided an opportunity to strengthen the expertise of university public relations professionals and to foster exchange and solidarity among member universities.

The Winter Workshop of the Pusan University of Economics Public Relations Council is underway.

During the special lecture, Choi Sunghui, Head of the Communication Team at Sookmyung Women's University, gave a presentation on "University Brand Communication Strategies with Student Leadership Groups," suggesting ways for current students to take the lead in university public relations.

Following this, Kim Seungki, Head of the Public Relations Team at Youngsan University, delivered a lecture on "University Public Relations Strategies in the AI Era," sharing both the university public relations work process utilizing AI and real-life application cases.

Chairman Jung Yuntae stated, "This winter workshop was a meaningful occasion to reflect together on the direction and role of university public relations in the rapidly changing AI era," adding, "We will continue to provide opportunities for communication to promote mutual growth and cooperation among universities."

The Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Regional University Public Relations Council consists of 19 national and private universities from these regions, including Tongmyong University. Choi Jisung, Head of the External Public Relations Center at Pukyong National University, has been appointed as the next (26th) council chairman, with the term beginning in March 2026.
