Recruiting Public-Private Partnership Partners
to Strengthen the Competitiveness of the Daejeon and Chungcheong MICE Industry
The Daejeon Tourism Organization is recruiting public-private partnership partners to strengthen the competitiveness of the MICE industry in the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions.
From January 19 to February 13, the organization is seeking new member companies for the "2026 Daejeon-Chungcheong MICE Alliance (DCMA)," a public-private partnership network aimed at the sustainable development and enhanced competitiveness of the MICE industry in Daejeon and Chungcheong.
The Daejeon-Chungcheong MICE Alliance (hereafter DCMA) was the first consultative body of its kind established by a local government in Korea in 2010. It operates with the goal of building a cooperative network among MICE-related institutions and companies in the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions and promoting joint growth. Currently, 82 member companies are participating across four divisions and nine sectors, including facilities, planning and operations, support, and policy cooperation.
DCMA has continuously focused on practical cooperation for attracting and hosting MICE events, as well as capacity-building activities. Based on this collaborative system, it has successfully attracted and hosted major international conferences such as the 28th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, the 2025 World Congress on Genetics Applied to Livestock Production, the 2027 International Conference on Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS), the 2027 World Carbon Conference, and the 2030 World Congress on Powder Metallurgy (World PM).
Additionally, to strengthen practical MICE capabilities, DCMA has operated field-oriented training programs such as event venue safety manager courses and provided benchmarking tours to experience MICE infrastructure in other cities, thereby supporting the tangible competitiveness of its member companies.
In the area of joint marketing, DCMA has participated in major domestic and international MICE exhibitions such as the Korea MICE Expo and ITB Asia in Singapore, promoting Daejeon's MICE infrastructure and contributing to tangible results through one-on-one business consultations with MICE organizers.
This recruitment of new member companies targets MICE-related businesses and organizations located in the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions. Member companies will receive various benefits, including priority connections to Daejeon MICE organizers, mandatory utilization when applying for Daejeon MICE support programs, joint marketing and promotional material production, and participation in education, networking, and benchmarking programs.
Companies and organizations wishing to join can check the membership criteria on the Daejeon Tourism Organization website and apply by email by February 13.
