Kakao is offering a unique experience that allows users to create their own one-of-a-kind character through artificial intelligence (AI).
Kakao announced on January 19 that it will launch an AI image generation promotion that enables users to create their own "My Jjordi" character by utilizing the ChatGPT service.
When a user uploads a photo, the AI analyzes the features of the photo and recreates it as an original character image based on "Jjordi." Jjordi is a group of characters that expands the universe of Jordi, a popular character from NINIZ, and features a variety of creative variations.
To generate an image, users can enter the service by tapping the "ChatGPT" button at the top of the "Chat" tab in the KakaoTalk mobile app, then clicking the "Create My Jjordi" banner from the menu in the upper right corner. Users can upload a photo (one per attempt) on the promotion page and click the "Generate" button, after which the image will be completed within a few minutes. A notification of completion will also be sent via a KakaoTalk channel message.
The opportunity to generate Jjordi character images resets every day at 10 a.m., allowing users to create new images daily and enjoy collecting a variety of Jjordi characters.
A Kakao representative said, "We hope users will enjoy experiencing AI services in a fun and easy way by creating their own special characters," adding, "We will continue to develop usability that allows people to encounter and experience AI in various ways in their daily lives."
Previously, in October last year, Kakao launched the ChatGPT service within KakaoTalk through a collaboration with OpenAI. By combining OpenAI technology, KakaoTalk users can enjoy a new AI experience and easily access AI through the platform.
