Yongin City Accepting Resident Compensation Applications for Military Aircraft Noise-Affected Areas Until February 28

For Residents Within the Operational Radius of Yongin and Osan Airfields

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for 'resident compensation' for areas affected by noise from military aircraft such as fighter jets and helicopters until February 28 of next month.

The eligible areas for application include parts of Jeondae, Yuun, and Samgye-ri in Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu, as well as parts of Jinmok-ri in Namsa-eup, all located within the operational radius of Yongin Airfield and Osan Air Base.


Detailed information on noise-affected areas can be found on the Ministry of National Defense's Military Noise Portal.


Eligible applicants are: ▲ Residents (including foreigners) who have their resident registration and actually reside in the noise-affected areas between January 1 and February 28, 2025; and ▲ Residents who actually lived in the noise-affected areas between November 27, 2020 and December 31, 2023, but were unable to apply last year.


Residents in these areas can receive up to 30,000 won per month in compensation, with the actual amount adjusted based on the period of residence, the timing of moving in, and employment status.


Residents wishing to apply can download the application form from the 'Notices & Announcements' section of the city website, complete it, and submit it in person to the Climate & Air Division at City Hall, or send it by registered mail or email.
