Following the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) at a pig farm in Gangneung, Chuncheon Mayor Yukdong Han conducted an inspection of quarantine measures at pig farms and disinfection facilities in Chuncheon on the 18th.

On this day, Mayor Han visited the base disinfection facility in Sindong-myeon and major pig farms to examine various facilities and tools that could be affected by facility freezing, and urged strict preventive measures to block the inflow of ASF into Chuncheon.

Mayor Han emphasized, "ASF has no cure, so preemptive prevention is of utmost importance. Please do your best to maintain Chuncheon as a disease-free area by ensuring there are no gaps in quarantine due to the cold winter weather," adding, "Thoroughly maintain facilities and strictly disinfect all vehicles entering and exiting farms to minimize anxiety among farmers."

Meanwhile, after ASF was confirmed at a pig farm in Gangneung on the 17th, the Chuncheon city government has strengthened the operation of its quarantine response headquarters, is conducting close monitoring and clinical surveillance through advanced control systems at pig farms, and has deployed seven disinfection vehicles to support disinfection of farms and access roads. Emergency disinfectant supplies have also been distributed.
