"Study in Seoul, Solved for Around 100,000 Won a Month"
Inje County to Select Eight Residents for Mapo Public Dormitory
Inje County in Gangwon Province is recruiting residents for the 2026 Mapo Public Dormitory, targeting freshmen or current students enrolled at universities located in Seoul.
This recruitment aims to provide a stable residential environment for local students who have entered universities in the Seoul area, alleviating the housing burden on parents and enabling students to focus on their studies.
The number of available spots is eight in total: four for male students and four for female students.
Applications will be accepted from January 19 to February 6, and selected residents will be able to live in the Mapo Public Dormitory for one year.
There is no additional fee for residents other than the maintenance fee. As of 2025, the average monthly maintenance fee ranged from 100,000 to 150,000 won.
To be eligible, the student and at least one parent or legal guardian who can prove dependency must have resided in Inje County for at least two years as of the application date.
However, in the case of students who have changed their address to another region for academic purposes, an exception is made if at least one parent or legal guardian who can prove dependency has continuously resided in Inje County for more than two years.
Applications are accepted online only, either through the Inje County Scholarship Management System or the Inje County Office website. Offline applications via in-person visits, mail, or township and town administrative welfare centers will not be accepted.
An official from the county stated, "We will continue to provide practical support so that local students attending universities in Seoul can focus on their studies without worrying about housing," and added, "We hope for active interest and applications from eligible students."
