The National Office of Investigation under the National Police Agency announced on January 18 that it will expand its monitoring system to continuously oversee the progress of criminal complaints and accusations that are closely related to the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
The police plan to assign six personnel from the National Office of Investigation, thirty-six investigation inspectors from provincial police agencies, and thirty-seven investigation examiners to remain stationed at investigation sites for guidance and inspection.
In particular, cases that have been pending for more than six months since the filing of a complaint or accusation, cases closed before formal charges, and unsolved cases under management-those at risk of being neglected or intentionally delayed-will be subject to focused inspection.
If serious or repeated misconduct by investigators is identified during the inspection process, strict measures will be taken, including removal from investigative duties and disciplinary action.
